Scholarships

LehmanGaeilge, the Irish Language Program at Lehman College, currently has two different scholarships available to those who have studied Irish with Lehman College instructors.

  1. For students who have completed IRI 112 Elementary Irish 2, we are offering two scholarships to pay for tuition for IRI 201 Intermediate Irish Grammar. The awards are worth $825 (paid at matriculated NYState resident rate) and are funded by the Friends of LehmanGaeilge. Applicants must be matriculated Lehman College students and are required to declare the minor in Irish Language and Literature as one of their minors.   2. For students who have taken two semester of Irish with Lehman College instructors, we are offering two scholarships (pending funding) to pay for tuition, room, and board for 6 credits in NUI-Galway’s four week summer program in An CheathrĂș Rua, Co Galway. Students at other campuses who have studied Irish with Lehman instructors are welcome to apply. The Summer Gaeltacht Awards are funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and the Irish National Lottery supported by the Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange (Fulbright Commission).
